BERLIN, Germany, 14 September – Four years after winning the European Title for the last time, Italy took the European Championship back here in Berlin, Germany on Sunday. The three times World Champion defeated France in an extremely spectacular final (3-2), watched by almost 9,000 spectators. In one of the most exciting matches of this Men’s Volleyball European Championship Italy defeated France in five sets (25:18, 40:42, 25:28, 27:29, 15:9). It took the new European Champion almost two and a half hour to take the title home.
